Gericó Associates hires Patricio Espinoza and Claudia Preece, ex Chambers and Partners

Patricio and Claudia have been researchers for Spain and Latin America at Chambers and Partners

The marketing, communications and business development consultancy specialising in the legal sector in Spain and Latin America, Gericó Associates, has hired Patricio Espinoza, from the prestigious international legal directory Chambers and Partners, as the new partner in charge of international rankings in London. It has also incorporated Claudia Preece, who has been a researcher and senior analyst in the same legal directory for Spain and Latin America for years, to co-lead the area from London.

Espinoza, a lawyer from the University of Chile, worked as a research associate in the prestigious Chambers and Partners directory from 2019 to August 2022 and has a solid track record of more than 13 years in the public sector, where he has worked as a legal officer for the Government of Chile.

For 5 years he was legal advisor in the Studies Department of the Budget Office of the Chilean Ministry of Finance. At the Ministry of Education, he was the legal officer in charge of drafting the bills debated in Congress as a result of the Chilean Education Reform and participated in the design of the reform policies. Espinoza holds an LLM from the University of Chile and an MA Legal and Political Theory from University College London.

Claudia was a senior research analyst at the renowned international legal rankings, Chambers and Partners, for years, focused on Latin America and Spain, focusing on national and local markets, such as the legal market in Barcelona. Bilingual in Spanish and English, she is an expert in legal research and writing. Based in London, Claudia holds degrees from the University of Bath and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago de Chile. She has also worked at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in Lima and as a journalist specialising in Economics and Finance.

Marc Gericó, managing partner at Gericó Associates, reaffirms the consultancy firm’s decision to strengthen its international rankings team with professionals who are familiar with the latest criteria applied by Chambers and Partners: “The methodology of directories such as Chambers and Partners is constantly evolving. It is essential to have consultants who have experienced all the recent changes in the rankings from the inside, in order to be able to offer firms in the legal sector up-to-date and accurate criteria”.
